Press Release

18 May 2018

Vote for new Portchester play equipment

Residents are being asked for their help to vote for which new play equipment they would like to see in a Portchester play area. An existing trim trail at the Castle Street play area is to be replaced with a new large piece of play equipment.

Now Fareham Borough Council wants residents to choose their favourite from two climbing frame options to be the new park centrepiece.

To cast your vote for the play area, please log onto an online survey at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.

New benches will also be added to the play area and existing equipment will be painted as part of a five-year programme of play area improvements.

Executive Member of Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: "We want the children who will be benefitting from this new play equipment to help choose it.

"We are delighted to be updating play equipment across the area for children and their families to enjoy."

The consultation runs from Monday 21 May to Monday 18 June. Work on the play area is expected to start in 2019.

You can also visit our Facebook and Twitter pages to get involved. For more information about the Improvement Programme visit www.fareham.gov.uk/leisure.
