Fareham community in full bloom

Fareham has celebrated another year of success at last week's South and South East in Bloom awards.
The Borough received its 15th consecutive winning entry in the Small City category receiving a Gold Award and was declared Category Winner.
Fareham in Bloom also received The County Award for Hampshire for the highest marked entry in the county.
Titchfield Village in Bloom achieved a Gold award and winner of the Large Village category. This is an amazing achievement in only their second year of entry.
Fareham's parks and gardens also came out with top awards including:
- Coldeast Conservation area: Silver Gilt
- Warsash Common: Gold and Category Winner
- Holly Hill Woodland Park: Gold
- Sensory Garden of Reflection: Gold
- Westbury Manor Garden: Gold
- Civic Gardens: Gold
- Portchester Common: Gold and category winner. This was a first-time entry for Fareham and outstanding result.
Other awards were given to the following:
- Business Landscape: HMS Collingwood Silver Gilt
- Portchester Crematorium: Gold
- Portchester Memorial Gardens: Gold
Britain in Bloom 'It's Your Neighbourhood Awards' were presented to:
- Burnham Wood: Level 4 – Thriving
- Locks Wood Bowling Club: Level 5 – Outstanding
- Trafalgar Court: Level 5 – Outstanding. This is the first time the residents have entered and is testament to what can be achieved through communities working together. Their determination was also recognised with a national Britain in Bloom award 'Greener Streets Better Lives'.
Executive Member for Streetscene at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Simon Martin said: "These are outstanding results, which show the commitment and hard work of those who keep the Borough looking beautiful. I would like to congratulate and thank our passionate volunteers and the Council officers involved. Well done to all!"
