Press Release
22 August 2017
Calling all young artists!
To help celebrate 100 years of flying at Daedalus, the Council is launching a childrens' drawing competition with an aviation theme.
Entrants just need to draw us a picture of any plane from the last 100 years to be in with a chance of winning some fabulous prizes.
There are three categories: age 5 and under, ages 6-10 and 11-16. The winners from each category will receive:
- A family ticket to the panto at Ferneham Hall
- A family ticket to Daedalus 100 on Saturday 16 September 2017, 10am-4pm
- Our overall winner will also receive a £25 Amazon voucher presented by the Mayor at Daedalus 100
Councillor Trevor Cartwright, Chairman of the Daedalus Anniversary Group, said: "The 100th anniversary is a special landmark for the Borough and by launching this competition we want to get children involved in the celebrations. So if you know a budding young artist, why not encourage them to let their imagination take flight. I can't wait to see the entries as they come in."
Entries should be sent to Communications, Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ by Monday 4 September 2017. Please include your name and contact details. Unfortunately we won't be able to return any artwork sent to us. Any artwork we receive could be used as part of our Daedalus 100 celebrations and may be used in publicity for the event.
