Press Release

29 October 2018

Vote for favourite equipment for Swanwick Lane play area

New play equipment is to be installed at Swanwick Lane play area and Fareham Borough Council wants you to help decide what items children will play with.

Residents, particularly younger ones, are being urged to go online with their parents at https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=153780020694 External Hyperlink and choose items for the Swanwick play area.

The current junior climbing frame will be replaced with a choice of two styles and residents will also be asked to vote for a new swing and roundabout.

Traditional games will be painted on the ground for children to play with and all equipment and court markings will be repainted.

The changes are part of a five-year improvement plan being carried out by Fareham Borough Council at play areas in the Borough. To find out more have a look at: /leisure/out_and_about_in_fareham/play_areas/playareaimprovements.aspx

Executive Member of Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: "We want children to get outside and play so it is important they are involved in deciding what new items are in the play area.

"Please help us to improve the play area by going online to cast your vote for your preferred equipment."

The deadline for responses is Monday 26 November. Work on the play area is expected to take place in 2019.
