During these challenging times the Council is working with a number of local organisations including the Fareham and Gosport Basics Bank, Acts of Kindness (AOK) and Waypoint Church, to provide essential supplies to our vulnerable residents, no matter what situation people may currently find themselves in.
There has been an amazing response to donations which has enabled these groups to deliver food parcels to those in need, whether they are shielding or are struggling financially and unable to get essentials, and we thank those residents, businesses and supermarkets that have made a generous donation already.
However, the crisis isn't over yet and we will need to continue to supply people with essential supplies for many weeks to come to ensure that nobody has to struggle with basic items.
There are a number of ways that you can help donate to supply our organisations with the essential items they need to help vulnerable people during this time.
There are dedicated trolleys and baskets at local shops and supermarkets where you can donate items. These will then be distributed to the charities.

If you are able to do so, you could create your own food parcel to donate to someone in need. Items that are needed are listed at the top of the page.
A typical food parcel for one person could cost around £15-£20, depending on where you shop, and it could include:
Don't worry if you don't have all of these items, this is just an example of the type of food parcel you could put together. Whatever you may be able to provide will be a huge help to someone in need. If you don't have a box to put your items in, that's fine, just use a bag instead.
If you would like to donate your own food parcel, please email email@example.com and the Council will arrange for it to be collected and delivered to someone in need.
If you are a local business and would like to donate essential items to help support the crisis, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01329 236100.
If you wish to make a donation online to enable Acts of Kindness and Waypoint to continue to deliver essential supplies to those in need during this time, you can do so through their fundraising pages.
