M27 Closure
Please be advised that the M27 will be fully closed in both directions from between Junction 9 (Whiteley) and Junction 11 (Fareham) from 8pm on 24 December 2025 to 4am on Sunday 4 January 2026. Please consider alternative routes, public transport, travelling at quieter times or whether your journey is necessary to avoid congestion. This scheme is being delivered by VolkerFitzpatrick, on behalf of Hampshire County Council (HCC) and you can find updates here

This motorway closure may have an impact on some Council services. While we will still be operating an out of hours service, please only contact us in the event on an emergency. It may take us longer to respond to issues in the Borough due to traffic congestion.
Traffic disruption may also cause delays to planned waste collections. For example, your bin collection days will be unaffected, but it may take us longer to collect your bins than usual. Please leave your bins out until they are collected and remember to put them out the night before, as we may collect earlier than usual.
