We run a scheme to help tenants and leaseholders monitor the work of cleaning and grounds maintenance contractors. We give volunteers who are appointed "block captain" – one resident per block - information on the frequency and work of each contractor." Each block captain is asked to complete pre-paid satisfaction cards for a range of cleaning and grounds maintenance services. If they are not satisfied, they are asked to write a few words on one of the cards to say why not so that we can act on this. Feedback on work by each contractor is essential to ensure blocks are kept clean and tidy and that we do not pay for any work not done. If you are interested in becoming a block captain or would like to know more about the role please contact our senior housing officer on 01329 236100 or email housing@fareham.gov.uk.
