A local rugby club is celebrating after Fareham Borough Council contributed £2,906 as part of its community funding programme.
Fareham Heathens RFC was given the money, to replace old and damaged equipment, for their 2 senior teams, youth, colts and ladies teams.
Executive member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Connie Hockley, said "with the Rugby World Cup taking place in England this year, club membership, countrywide, is likely to increase. It is really important clubs have the resources to take advantage of the increased enthusiasm, we hope the community fund will enable Heathens RFC to do this'.
The Community Fund is available to support projects that benefit the local community or environment within the Borough of Fareham. Any resident, or organisation based in the Borough can apply for money for one off purchases from the Community Fund.
