Fareham Borough Council is asking for comments on their proposal to make parking better for residents and businesses in Titchfield village by introducing 8 additional 30 minute only parking spaces in The Square.
The plans were suggested after a survey revealed that the flow of visitors to the village was affected by people using the Square's parking spaces for extended periods of time, sometimes all day.
The proposed changes will complement existing plans for the removal of business permits for Barry's Meadow Car Park to create more short term parking spaces, and increasing the number of parking spaces at Titchfield Community Centre Car Park to provide a long stay parking option.
Cllr Trevor Cartwright, executive member for Public Protection, said, "We have listened to the views of residents and analysed the results of our parking survey and we see the proposed changes as the best way of making sure that parking meets the needs of the village as a whole."
You can view a detailed map and comment on the changes at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices . The consultation will remain open until 20 February.
