All general waste and recycling vehicles have gone out this morning. It is planned that bins from properties on main roads will be collected first, then estate and side roads later to allow the snow time to thaw.
If any roads are not accessible for the Council’s vehicles, revised collection details will be posted on this website later today.
Fareham Borough Council is warning residents to be on their guard against another spate of bogus calls relating to their Council Tax account.
The fraudsters operate by ringing or texting residents and pretending to be from Fareham Borough Council or another company which deals with Council Tax banding.
The scams include:
All lead to the resident being asked for personal and bank details to allow the fraudsters to process the refund or for you to make a payment.
Executive Member for Policy and Resources, Councillor Seán Woodward said, "We never cold call, text or email residents requesting bank details. If you receive one of these cold calls please do not give out any personal information and end the call as quickly as you can."
If Council Tax refunds are due or there is any change to your bill then the Council will send a statement in the post to you to explain the situation. Any genuine direct phone number given out by a Council Tax officer will be in the format "01329 824XXX".
If you receive one of these phone calls report it to the national Action Fraud hotline by ringing 0300 123 2040.
If you are in any doubt as to the authenticity of a call about your Council Tax account, or wish to discuss your Council Tax Band, please contact the Local Taxation Team office on Tel: 01329 824651 or e-mail email@example.com.
