All general waste and recycling vehicles have gone out this morning. It is planned that bins from properties on main roads will be collected first, then estate and side roads later to allow the snow time to thaw.
If any roads are not accessible for the Council’s vehicles, revised collection details will be posted on this website later today.
Today marks 100 days to go until the London 2012 Olympic Games begin on Friday 27 July. With that exciting occasion in mind Fareham is looking ahead to the Olympic Torch Relay passing through the town on Sunday 15 July and would like to hear from the Torchbearers who will be carrying the Olympic flame through Fareham, as well as those chosen from Fareham to carry the torch in other areas.
Derek Wood will be one of seven inspirational people carrying the Olympic Flame through Fareham on Sunday 15 July. Derek is 86 years old and lives in Farnborough. He was nominated by his golf friends, as he works with disabled people to encourage them into sport, regularly delivering sessions. Derek, has been a school governor, worked on youth and sports councils, and has recently won the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award at the Rushmoor Sports Awards.

Head of Leisure and Community, Mark Bowler, said: "We are very excited that the Olympic Torch will be coming through Fareham and are planning an afternoon of fun for everyone to 'welcome' the torch. We're very keen to hear from the torchbearers who are playing an extremely important role, to help share their inspirational stories during the build up to the great event."

Each Torchbearer will wear a white and gold uniform which been designed by adidas.
