Fareham Borough Council has awarded more than £3,500 to Catisfield Memorial Hall to help pay for urgently needed repairs to the roof.
The memorial hall was built in 1946 and is in serious need of repair. Fund raising efforts paid for new kitchen, toilets, meeting room and a much brighter and warmer main hall after new lighting and improved heating.
The repairs to the roof, made possible by the financial aid of the Fareham Community Fund, completed the mission to rejuvenate the hall.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said "The contribution from the Community Fund has helped salvage this much cherished hall and secured its place at the heart of the community for years to come".
The Community Fund is available to support projects that benefit the local community or environment within the Borough of Fareham. Any resident, or organisation based in the Borough can apply for money for one off capital funds from the Community Fund.
