On Thursday 2 June 2022 more than 1,500 beacons were lit across the UK to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Fareham lit its own beacon at Portchester Castle at a very special event, kindly sponsored by Everyone Active. The event, in partnership with English Heritage, saw thousands of people flock Portchester Castle to enjoy an evening of performances from some amazing groups, have a go at some free children's activities and enjoy a picnic with family and friends.
The beacon was lit at the top of the castle by The Mayor of Fareham, followed by a special performance from The Rose and Thistle Pipe and Drum band and the Portsmouth Military Wives Choir.
We hope everyone that came had a fantastic time, but if you missed it, check out the video of the best bits…
