Ukraine Crisis Support Ukraine flag

Consistent with people across the UK, Fareham residents have provided a fantastic response to the Ukraine Appeal and everything donated so far has been taken to the Jacob's Well charity.

Due to the unprecedented levels of donations, charities are now struggling to find space for storage, and asking, where possible, for financial donations to be made instead.

As a result we will no longer be accepting donations at the Civic Offices.

We will work with local charities and update this page with any new information received.

Making a financial donation

A national donation point has been set up External Hyperlink and the British Government is pledging to match public donations pound-for-pound up to £25 million.

Donating directly to a charity

Many charities have launched their own appeals, so you may prefer to donate through them instead.  The Government has issued some guidelines to ensure your money is safe, and these can be found on the government's website External Hyperlink

Food donations

If you have purchased food with the intention of donating it to the Ukraine Appeal, you may wish to donate to one of the local food banks instead.

Further details can be found on the Coronavirus page, under 'Donations'.

Offers of accommodation

The Government has confirmed details of a new sponsorship scheme to allow people to welcome Ukrainians into their homes.

You can use this service to record your interest in becoming a sponsor, either as an individual or as an organisation External Hyperlink.

There are currently two visa application schemes open to Ukrainian refugees:

If you are interested in providing housing for refugees, please follow the links above and contact Hampshire County Council.

Further information about Hampshire's response to the Ukraine crisis is available on the Hampshire County Council website External Hyperlink

Useful information

Everyone Active is offering free membership to their leisure centres, including Fareham and Holly Hill leisure centres in Fareham, to refugees from Ukraine. For more information go to the Everyone Active website External Hyperlink
