Call for Sites

Suggest Land for Development, Protection or Other Uses

The Council is undertaking a Call for Sites. This is an opportunity for landowners, developers, agents, businesses, organisations and members of the public to suggest land that may have potential for future use within the Local Plan.

Sites may be submitted for a range of uses, including:

• Housing development.
• Employment and commercial development.
• Community facilities.
• Renewable energy projects.
• Open space and recreation.
• Biodiversity enhancement.
• Environmental mitigation or conservation.

The Call for Sites is an information-gathering exercise. It enables the Council to understand the range of land that may be available for different uses and to assess potential options as part of the plan-making process.

Submitting a site does not mean that it will be allocated for development, nor does it indicate that the Council supports development on the site.

All submitted sites will be assessed through a robust and transparent process that considers a range of factors, including:

• Planning policy requirements.
• Environmental constraints and opportunities.
• Access and transport considerations.
• Infrastructure capacity.
• Deliverability and viability.
• Potential impacts on local communities and the environment.

The results of these assessments will help inform future stages of the Local Plan and will be published as part of the evidence base.
