The Welborne Standing Conference meets in public every four months. The purpose of the Standing Conference is to bring together different local interest groups in a formal round-table setting to advise them on the progress made and the available opportunities to make comments on the Welborne planning process. The Standing Conference receives reports and briefings on the overall progression of the planning and delivery of Welborne, including:
The Standing Conference is chaired by an independent chairperson and involves the Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, together with the Executive Member for Strategic Planning and Environment, Ward Councillors and landowner representatives alongside community groups, neighbouring local authorities, local business groups and education providers.
Details and presentations from all previous Standing Conference meetings are provided in the following table. All meetings commence at 6pm and are held in public at the Civic Offices.
In addition to the formal meetings outlined above, the Standing Conference has organised a number of workshop style events in order to discuss a range of issues particularly key to the development of Welborne. The aim of these events is to develop a consensus view from the Standing Conference which can be fed directly into the plan making process. As such, the Standing Conference responses to the consultation stages of the Welborne plan are listed below:
Standing Conference response to Draft Welborne Plan (298 KB)
Standing Conference response to Publication Welborne Plan (107 KB)
A summary note from each discussion workshop has been produced by the Standing Conference chairman in co-operation with Standing Conference members and are available in the table below. Additionally, a short summary note of workshops 1-3 (37 KB) has also been produced by the Standing Conference chairman.
In addition to the workshops, the Standing Conference also undertook a visit to the Poundbury urban extension in Dorchester, Dorset. A summary note of this visit was compiled by a Standing Conference member in co-operation with the Standing Conference chairman and is also available in the below table.
