Fareham Borough Council is offering up to £2,000 funding to local community groups and organisations, with great ideas for strengthening their local neighbourhood or community.
The Council has secured £20,000 of 'Have Your Say' funding from Hampshire County Council and is making the funding available for groups to bid for, through the Youth and Community Roots funding stream.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community Councillor Connie Hockley said: ""I would encourage as many groups and people as possible who think they can help make a difference to a local community, to apply for some funding. You can apply for funding for new or existing projects, and we would welcome a variety of ideas such as buying plants for a community garden, running a youth club or setting up a lunch club for older people"
Applications for funding can be made for any amount up to £2,000 for a range of projects that will be of direct benefit to the residents of Fareham. The deadline for applications is midnight on Friday 31 October, 2014.
Applications will then be shortlisted and successful projects will be invited to take part in either a short film or presentation about their project. These will be used to help the public decide who to vote for in November. People will be able to vote online or using voting boxes in venues across the Borough, including Asda, Newgate Lane, Fareham.
