Awards success for Environmental Health Partnership

Fareham Borough Council and Gosport Borough Council celebrated last night as their Environmental Health Partnership was honoured at the prestigious Improvement and Efficiency Awards (IESE) Awards.

The Partnership's Silver Award success, in the 'Delivering Through Efficiency' category, recognised its outstanding work in reducing costs whilst at the same time improving service quality.

Set up in April 2014, the Environmental Health Partnership serves a population of nearly 200,000 people and oversees 1,400 commercial food premises, 500 licensed premises, 529 taxi drivers and 450 licensed vehicles.  The benefits of the partnership include:

Executive Member for Public Protection for Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright said: "This award vindicates the vision shown by both Fareham Council and Gosport Council.  It took nearly three years of hard work by officers and members to put the Partnership together and I am proud to be involved in a project that is so successful."

Councillor Graham Burgess, Deputy Leader for Gosport Borough Councillor said: "We are extremely proud of this excellent partnership with our neighbours in Fareham. Thanks to the hard work of the staff we have made significant savings and also improved services to the residents."
