Press Release

21 December 2015

Clock tower in 'tick tock' condition

Cllr Seán Woodward, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council was joined by Reverend Sally Davenport at the Holy Trinity Church in Fareham earlier today to celebrate the restoration of the clock tower and the arrival of a new flag pole complete with flags. They climbed the tower together to see at first hand the important work that has taken place and
Cllr Woodward marked the occasion by raising the new Flag of St George.

The repairs and restoration work to the Church's clock tower means the civic church now has a working clock, something it has been lacking since 2011. The funding was also used to help towards making improvements to the local community facilities within the church.

Cllr Seán Woodward said: "It is important to be able to provide funding for projects as significant as this. One thing we can all now look forward to is the clock striking on the hour at
11.00am for Remembrance Sunday 2016."

Funding for the new flag pole and flags was granted by Hampshire County Councillor Seán Woodward.
