Local Community Group is awarded �4,650 from Fareham Borough Council's Community Fund.
Broadlaw Volunteers Group has recently been set up as part of the regeneration of Broadlaw Walk and is based in the Broadlaw Community Space. The group wish to enable the community to make their own mark on the regeneration of the Broadlaw Walk shopping area by creating attractive tiled mosaic sections along the path in the communal outdoor area. The total cost of this project is �9,650, the Broadlaw Volunteers Group have already successfully been awarded �5,000 from First Wessex Neighbourhood Improvement Fund and requested �4,650 from the Community Fund. The funding will be used for the materials, design, making and installation of the mosaic.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Se�n Woodward, said: "Broadlaw Walk is a very important project for Fareham Borough Council. We are pleased to have brought about the complete rejuvenation of a previously rundown shopping area with new shops and community facilities. I pay tribute to the volunteers for what they are doing to improve the area and can already see the positive differences in the community".
