Olympic Flame Comes to Fareham

On Sunday 15 July, the Olympic Flame will be carried through Fareham Town Centre, starting in East Street at 4.30pm moving onto West Street, through the pedestrian area, past Westbury Manor Museum, down Hartlands Road and onto and along the A32 as far as 'Fareham Reach'.

Fareham Town Centre will have a celebratory ‘carnival’ atmosphere on the day with a full packed itinerary of activities and displays.

2pm

Olympic exhibition opens at Westbury Manor Museum
Join the Play Rangers at Westbury Manor Museum to make Olympic torches and flags
Live broadcast from Breeze FM

2.10pm

 Morris dancing performance by Wickham Morris in front of the podium in West Street.

2.30pm

Gymnastic display from the Fareham school of Gymnastic Club

3.15pm

Community parade led by the Mayor and Mayoress of Fareham, flanked by Royal Naval Personnel from HMS Collingwood, through West Street

3.45pm

‘Presenting Partners Convoy’ – Coca Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung, arrival in West Street

4.30pm

The Olympic Torch relay begins in East Street, moving along into West Street

4.55pm

The Olympic Torch relay leaves the Borough on the A32 at Fareham Reach

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: “I am delighted that the Olympic Flame will be passing through Fareham Town Centre and we hope to create a carnival atmosphere to welcome the torchbearers along the route. I hope that many local residents will join in and enjoy the celebration of this momentous, ‘once in a life time’ occasion.”
