Sports Leisure Management (SLM) manage Fareham Leisure Centre in partnership with Fareham Borough Council.
SLM is a specialist contractor providing services in local government leisure. they currently manage a wide range of different facilities on behalf of 'Partners in local authorities'.
Fareham Leisure Centre is situated in Park Lane, Fareham, at the western end of the town centre, within walking distance of the bus station and train station. Fareham Leisure Centre has a 6,500 square foot state of the art fully equipped gym, complimented by a friendly team eager to make your workout that little bit more enjoyable and fun!! Come along and enjoy a wide range of group exercise classes to suit everyone. Variety is the spice of life! There is a large Splash School running 50 weeks a year, providing both children and adults with the opportunity to develop their skills ready for that special summer holiday or simply to improve their water confidence.
During term time there is a variety of 10 week dry side sports courses including trampolining, gymnastics, squash and much more. Our range of activities offers a fun packed Holiday Play Scheme for the children which includes a programme of sports and creativity sessions and lots more.
Olympians make a splash at Fareham Leisure Centre!
Fareham Leisure Centre celebrated the completion of its six-month, £2 million refurbishment programme with a family fun day at the end of September.
The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr David Norris, cut the ribbon to officially unveil Fareham Leisure Centre's new facilities and thousands of people enjoyed free activities including: family swimming in the brand new pool, tours, demonstrations and challenges in the upgraded gym and fitness taster sessions. There were also displays and taster sessions from Fareham's Everyone Active Dance School and Gymnastics School and Little Kickers games in the Sports Hall. There was plenty of fun and games for younger visitors too, including face painting, balloon modelling and a live magic show.
Double Olympic gold medallist, Rebecca Adlington OBE and Olympic diver and BBC Sports commentator Leon Taylor, were the very special guests. They toured the Centre, and introduced the childrens' 'Oceans of Fun' swim event – attended by even more Olympians! Water polo stars Adam Scholefield and Fran Leighton and syncrhonized swimmers Adele Carlsen and Vicki Lucas - gave lessons and tips in the brand new pool.
Rebecca Adlington said: "This was my first visit to Fareham and I really enjoyed seeing Fareham Leisure Centre celebrate its open day. The pool area looks amazing and the gym was tempting too with all that lovely new kit!"
The refurbished pools and modernised, extended changing facilities will make swimming even more fun at Fareham Leisure Centre while the relaxing health suite with steam room, sauna and cold water drench shower, gives a luxury touch. The brand new gym contains £500,000 of state-of-the art equipment designed to inspire both new members and seasoned gym fans.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: "The Fareham Leisure Centre open day was a perfect showcase of these extended facilities and I was delighted with the turnout and support from local people. I would urge everyone to make the most of the Centre and enjoy the wide range of fitness facilities on offer here."
Everyone Active has announced that Fareham Leisure Centre will be part of its legacy project that promises to get 500,000 under-16s engaged and active. As well as that their Legacy Games Day for local school children will come to the Centre next year – so there'll be no excuse not to get active!
Since its launch in April 1999, more than 6,000 people have signed up for a Fareham Leisure Card (1 MB). The scheme offers a wide range of discounts on leisure activities including sport, entertainment, beauty, travel, dining out and gardening. It can also be used at many local leisure facilities.
The card is a membership scheme available to all residents of the Borough. It costs £7.00 per person per year or £16.50 for family membership and £5.00 for students. It is free to some residents on a low income (see the terms and conditions on the back of the application form).
Simply pick up an application form from either Fareham Leisure Centre or Ferneham Hall , fill it in, and together with proof of your address and payment, hand it in. Your Fareham Leisure Card will then be sent to you.
Discounts offered vary from 5% - 50% and include season tickets, activities and admission charges.
