Published by Fareham Borough Council, each monthly edition delivers news, support and opportunities to businesses in Fareham.
Fareham Borough Council has launched a consultation inviting residents and businesses to have their say on proposals for the redevelopment of 130-136 West Street. The Council acquired the buildings in March 2024, including the former Foresters Hall, a number of ground floor shops and the Birks of Fareham furniture store.
Since then, Fareham Housing has been working with MH Architects to develop plans for the future of the site, which currently includes much-needed affordable housing in the town centre and some commercial space to the ground level.
The online consultation will run from 17 June until 8 July, and members of the public have the opportunity to view the full details and have their say on the proposals at: www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
An in-person consultation event will also be taking place at Westbury Manor, a fully accessible venue on West Street on 24 June from 4-7pm. This is a drop-in session for local residents, businesses and visitors so there is no need to book - just turn up on the day. The on-site café will be open during this time.
February saw Fareham and Gosport Borough Councils working together to bring you the first Daedalus Network event at Fareham Innovation Centre where we heard from Daedalus Waterfront, Fareham Borough Council Asset Management, Fareham Innovation Centre, DFS Composites and SA Energy. The feedback from this event has been positive so we have scheduled them every four months.
The aim is to bring together organisations based on the Solent Enterprise Zone at Daedalus (DSEZ), including Faraday Business Park, Solent Airport, Daedalus Park, Fareham Innovation Centre, Daedalus Waterfront, and CEMAST and CETC colleges, to ease interaction with one another, build the community and encourage local collaboration.
The next event is 2pm-4pm at Fareham Innovation Centre on Thursday 26 June. It is aimed predominantly at DSEZ resident businesses, but the invite is open to all other interested parties, to raise the profile of the site and encourage new visitors to the area.
This session will have speakers on marketing a STEM business and the new manufacturing grant scheme 'Made Smarter'. It also includes time for networking.

Following the successful launch of the Fareham Town Centre Regeneration Strategy at a Busines Breakfast in March, these events have now been scheduled to take place every four months. Town centre businesses are encouraged to attend as well as other businesses and stakeholders that want to support the regeneration work taking place.
The next breakfast is 8am-10am on Thursday 10 July in the Council Chamber at the Civic Offices. Breakfast is provided followed by an update from the Regeneration team, a guest speaker and an interactive session - so your views and priorities can be fed back into the town centre Regeneration work.
Spaces are limited so click here now to book your place.
Fareham's Big Weekend is a new, family-friendly, two-day community event organised by Fareham Borough Council on 12-13 July. It will take place across Fareham Town Centre including Bath Lane Recreation Ground, Fareham Leisure Centre, Fareham Live, Fareham Shopping Centre, West Street and the Civic Garden area. The Council, partner organisations and local businesses are arranging a variety of events and activities to showcase just how much the town has to offer.
From 10am-6pm on Saturday 12 July, and from 10am-4pm on Sunday 13 July, visitors can enjoy free entertainment such as music, street performers, food and drink, fun fair rides, entertainment, free children's activities and workshops, community cricket matches, and much, much more!
The more local businesses that get involved the better the weekend will be - if you would like to join in the fun and organise a town centre activity or special offer, please let us know by email so we can help to promote it (and you!) as part of the wider event.

We're building a panel that truly reflects our whole community – across all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and experiences — and that starts with you!
As Fareham Borough Council begins to develop and deliver projects in the Town Centre, we want to ensure that they have a positive impact on the town's residents, businesses and visitors. To help do this, we are creating an online panel of Borough residents, representing the diversity of people. Panel members will be emailed questions twice a year and asked about their views on the town as it changes. For every survey completed, members will be entered into draws for Town Centre related prizes, e.g. vouchers.
If you would like to be a part of this panel, please complete an application form below by 31 July 2025. You will hear from us by 29 August 2025 to let you know you have been selected, with the first panel survey being sent shortly after.

Fareham is now lucky enough to have a co-working space in the heart of town, thanks to Save A Warrior UK (SAW). SAW is a life-saving organisation providing mental wellness programmes to veterans, first responders and individuals navigating complex trauma. The new co-working space in Fareham Shopping Centre is a way to fund this important work.
SAW also understands that isolation can be one of the biggest challenges for remote workers and business owners and believes that community is the antidote to loneliness. This co-working space is designed to support mental wellbeing by offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere; ethical, purpose-driven networking; weekly events that build real relationships; access to peer support and much more.
For just £20 per day, lone and remote workers can benefit from being part of this growing business community along with dedicated desks and hot-desking options, WiFi, meeting rooms, kitchenette, regular community events and easy parking (£3.50 all day), knowing they are also supporting the important work of SAW.
Join the community at the weekly networking and peer-support session: 8:30am-10am every Wednesday. The event is free to attend but donations to SAW are welcomed.
