Council buys Fareham Shopping Centre

Fareham Borough Council has bought Fareham Shopping Centre and several adjoining properties on West Street from Madone Ltd. The £14.25M acquisition forms part of the Council's broader regeneration programme, which includes £16.7M for Fareham Live and £2.5M to replace Osborn Road multi storey car park, which has reached the end of its useful life, with a modern surface car park. The shopping centre has a key role to play both now and in the future, and ownership will enable the Council to provide stability and reassurance to its tenants as it works with them and other key partners to develop a new all-encompassing strategy leading to a more vibrant town centre. Christmas lights switch-on announcement

All that glitters is gold at the 2023 Fareham Christmas lights event!

Come along to the 'go-to' festive event of the season – the Fareham Christmas Lights switch on! Taking place on the pedestrianised area of West Street on Saturday 18 November, this family friendly event is by far the best attended of the year, attracting thousands of visitors. This year, Fareham Borough Council will be unveiling a new festive lights display, as part of a five year contract with The Festive Lighting Company. The previous Christmas lights will be recycled. The new lights tie in beautifully with this year's golden theme, which will usher in a year-long celebration marking the 50th anniversary of Fareham being officially granted Borough status in 1974. This theme will continue across Council events and activities throughout 2024. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the Christmas Lights switch on and events throughout 2024 - click here for details. PDF (5 MB)
