Local Authority Discretionary Grants Fund
The first round of Discretionary Fund applications ran between 2 June and 16 June 2020. The second round closed on 28 August 2020.

Discretionary Fund Overview
The Local Authority Discretionary Grants Fund was announced by the UK government on 2nd May 2020. The fund was aimed at businesses who had not benefited from other grants and funds, including:
- Small Business Grant Fund
- Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant
- The Fisheries Response Fund
- Domestic Seafood Supply Scheme (DSSS).
- The Zoos Support Fund
- The Dairy Hardship Fund
Local Authorities awarded grants to businesses based on local needs, priorities and circumstances. In general the grant was aimed at:
- Small and micro-businesses
- With fixed, property-related overheads in the borough
- Who were trading on 11/3/20
- Who have suffered a loss due to COVID-19 restrictions
Fareham Borough Council has published full details of its scheme. The first application round was open from 2 June 12:15 to 16 June 16:30, and the second round closed on 28 August 2020.
