The Community Fund was set up to support projects that will help communities or the environment within the Borough of Fareham. The first things we will consider when deciding if we are able to fund a project are:-
Can it show that it will benefit a large number of Fareham residents?
Will the project be accessible to the wider community?
Will it be sustainable (i.e. will the project be able to keep running once the Community Fund money is spent)?
What have we spent Community Funding on?
Fareham Men's Shed were awarded £1,812 to pay for metalworking equipment to be added to their workshop.
1st Sarisbury Green Scout Group were awarded £25,000 (matched funding) to help pay for a brand-new scout hut.
Another worthy cause was Warsash Tennis Club, who received £4,999 to pay for the resurfacing of their courts.
Fareham North West Community centre received £1,880 for replacement heating.
£4,394 was given to 'Little Terrors', a new play group which runs from Broadlaw Walk Community Centre.
St Mary's Church, Portchester, received £3,092.12 for a World War Two memorial.
St Mary's Church, Hook-with-Warsash, received £3,400 to replace their boiler.
