The United Kingdom has been running a scheme to support locally employed staff in Afghanistan recognition of the commitment and bravery they have shown by supporting UK forces since 2013. In April 2021, this was extended to include a relocation scheme to the UK.
Fareham Borough Council has confirmed its commitment to the scheme and we are due to welcome our first family in the coming weeks.
Hampshire County Council is leading the response at a local level and working closely with the Home Office.
If you wish to donate an item, please visit the website of registered local charity Community First 
which is co-ordinating collections across the county. In addition to signposting to donation points, Community First has also published a list of priority items that are needed first and foremost. Please can we ask that items are either nearly-new or in good second-hand condition.
