Block Cleaning

Communal Cleaning and Window Cleaning ServicesAtlas Cleaning poster

We want our residents to enjoy clean, safe and welcoming communal areas. To help achieve this, Fareham Borough Council appoints specialist contractors to clean and maintain the shared areas within our blocks of flats, maisonettes and Later Living schemes.

What areas are cleaned?

Our cleaning contractor Atlas carries out regular cleaning of communal areas, including:

The contractor also reports issues such as graffiti, fly-tipping, abandoned items and damage within communal areas so that appropriate action can be taken. Information on the cleaning tasks undertaken is displayed within schemes by the contractor.

How often are communal areas cleaned?

Communal cleaning is carried out by our appointed contractor on a scheduled basis throughout the year. Cleaning frequencies may vary depending on the type of building and scheme requirements.

Later Living Schemes

Communal areas within our Later Living schemes are also cleaned by the Council's appointed cleaning contractor. This ensures a consistent service across all Council-managed schemes.

Window Cleaning

Communal windows are cleaned by our specialist contractor, Pure & Clean, on a quarterly basis (every three months).

At our Later Living schemes, window cleaning also includes the external windows of individual resident properties and is carried out as part of the scheduled quarterly programme.

If you have any concerns about the standard of cleaning in your block, or if you would like to report an issue within a communal area, please contact us on 01329 824435 or by emailing housing@fareham.gov.uk and we will investigate with the contractor.
