Block Representatives
At Fareham Housing, we believe every tenant should have the opportunity to shape the future of their neighbourhood. Block Reps play a key part in making sure every voice is heard, especially in areas where we may not always hear from everyone.
What Block Reps do:
- Act as a link between the council and your block/area
- Report communal repairs or concerns
- Report Flytipping
- Monitor cleaning (weekly) and grounds maintenance (every 3 months)
- Share important information with neighbours
- Join yearly area inspections
- Work with other reps to share ideas and support each other
What they are not there to do:
- Raise the individual issues of other tenants
- Get involved with neighbour disputes
- Take on the role of an unpaid housing worker, neighbourhood officer or support worker
- Be responsible for the management of an area
- Use your position to raise individual or personal issues
If you would like to find out if your area has a block rep and who they are, please email listening@fareham.gov.uk.
