Estate Action Days
Estate Action Days bring our services into the community, by meeting tenants where they live we're making engagement more accessible and inclusive. Changing our approach helps us reach a broader range of voices and ensures everyone has a say in shaping housing in Fareham.
Our next Estate Action Day
Estate Action Day at Bishopsfield Road
As part of our commitment to the new Tenant Engagement Strategy, we held a pilot Estate Action Day at Bishopsfield Road on Wednesday 23 October.
Tenants had raised concerns about the amount of fly tipping in the area. Fareham Housing Officers were on hand to help with any questions or queries. This was a chance for us to hear first-hand from residents in the neighbourhood about how we can improve our housing services, how we can improve the neighbourhood, and how we can tackle fly tipping in the area.
There was also an opportunity for tenants to safely dispose of bulky household waste in a 'mixed waste' skip provided and find out more information about how they can legally dispose of waste. With the support of the Council's Streetscene team, we were also able to clean up the fly tipping left in the bin stores. It really was a cross-team effort to ensure we were able to provide support on a broad range of issues, from repairs and maintenance, safety concerns in the area, to estate management and everything in between.
We've had some great feedback from those who came along!
Estate Action Day at St Julien House
On Monday 17 February we held our second Estate Action Day, this time at St Julien House.
The event afforded an opportunity to engage with tenants on fire and balcony safety whilst safely disposing of their bulky household waste in the mixed waste skip provided. We are considering a variety of engagement events when looking at other areas in the Borough and assessing what different locations need.
Estate Action Day at Fareham Park Play Area
As the summer holidays drew to a close, we hosted another successful Estate Action Day for our tenants living in Fareham Park alongside the official opening of the new play area. Our 'Ice Cream and Chat' theme saw each tenant receive an ice cream token and an
invitation to bring their family along to enjoy a treat over a relaxed conversation with us.
It was a great opportunity to talk about local neighbourhood issues, improving our housing services, the ongoing Fareham Park development, and how to get involved in tenant engagement. We welcomed over 90 attendees, making the event a clear success. Importantly, we were able to engage with new tenants that we had not had the opportunity to talk with.
We were also joined by Liberty Gas following the launch of their new contract with us, who were raising awareness for their new branding and giving out safety and energy advice.
