How Tenant Feedback Influences Decisions

As part of our Tenant Engagement Strategy, we have developed a governance structure collaboratively with tenants to ensure tenant views influence decisions about housing services.

Tenant feedback and insight are gathered through a range of engagement activities, including consultations, project groups, block representatives, surveys, complaints, tenant events and the Tenant Advisory Group (TAG). This feedback is reviewed by the Housing Management Team, shared with TAG, reported to elected members, and used to inform service improvements, policy development and decision-making.

TAG provides the Council's tenant scrutiny function by leading reviews of key areas of the housing service and making recommendations for improvement.

We have worked with and been guided by TAG to effectively embed tenant scrutiny within the Council's governance structure. Following scrutiny reviews, findings and recommendations are considered by senior officers and reported to the Housing Advisory Panel, with tenant representatives given opportunities to contribute directly to discussions.

These arrangements continue to evolve in response to tenant experiences, preferences and feedback.
