Skate and BMX parks in the Borough

We manage six skate parks across the Borough to provide sport activity for young people. They aim to offer a stimulating challenge to children and young people who are too old for existing play areas (predominantly aimed at 4-8 year olds), or who do not want to take part in structured youth activities.

Each site provides an area for young people to congregate safely and entertain themselves without being 'moved on' by the police or asked to leave by local residents. Each has a variety of recreational equipment and seating areas.

They are maintained by our grounds maintenance team. You can report any damage online using a report a problem form.

Exciting new skate parks

Wicor and Stubbington skate parks will be replaced with new modernised concrete skate parks, which have been developed in partnership with local young people, residents and other stakeholders.

Works to Wicor will begin on Monday 21 September and works to Stubbington will start later in the year. Both skate parks will re-open towards the end year, subject to weather, ground conditions and any potential unforeseen circumstances.

This park will have a street-influence design and features will be organised around a central spine that links two distinct zones: a transition zone anchored by a halfpipe at one end, and a street section at the other. Designs include:
