If you prefer to read a hard copy of the consultation documents detailed below or respond using a paper form, copies will be available at libraries across the borough and can also be viewed on request at the Civic Offices in Fareham.

Local Plan Scoping Consultation

Call for Sites
The Council is undertaking a Call for Sites to identify land that may be suitable for future development, environmental protection or other uses as part of the evidence gathering process for the new Fareham Local Plan. We welcome submissions from landowners, developers, agents and other interested parties who wish to promote land for consideration.

We will only collect and use personal information where necessary and will handle it in accordance with data protection legislation. Our Privacy Notice

Using AI to support work on our new Local Plan
Consultation plays a hugely importantly role in the development of a Local Plan. To help manage these large consultation exercises more efficiently, the Council is using specialist planning software which includes AI-assisted features that support this work.
Within this system AI is used to:
- Assist in analysing large volumes of consultation and consultee responses
- Generate draft summaries of representations to support officer review
- Identify overall themes, trends and frequently raised issues
- Undertake sentiment analysis (positive, negative or neutral) to help officers understand the balance of views
- Suggest keywords and topics to support searching, filtering and reporting
- Assist officers in identifying information that may need to be redacted before publication, such as personal information
All AI-generated summaries and tags are reviewed and, where necessary, amended by officers. AI does not make any decisions. Its role is to provide officers with information and support so that officers can manage complex consultation processes more efficiently and consistently.
Using this approach helps the Council meet statutory Local Plan timescales while continuing to give proper consideration to public feedback and representations.
