Why Does This Measure Matter?
Fareham takes a ‘best practice approach’ and for all gas heated properties with the smoke detectors being tested annually as part of the regular gas safety checks. Additional checks are made within our Sheltered properties as part of the day-to-day role of Sheltered Housing Officers, on a weekly or monthly basis. For electrically heated properties, annual checks are carried out by Fareham Housing staff.
