All food intended for human or household pet consumption can go in your food waste bin, regardless of whether it has any nutritional value.

- All uneaten food and plate scrapings
- Mouldy and out of date food (including ready meals)
- Raw and cooked vegetable and fruit, whole and peelings
- Raw and cooked meat and fish (including bones)
- Dairy products, cheese and egg shells
- Bread, cakes and pastries
- Rice, pasta and beans
- Tea bags and coffee grounds
- Waste pet food
- Biodegradable material resulting from the processing or preparation of food, including inedible food parts such as bones, fruit and vegetable skins, tea bags and coffee grounds.
No thanks
Anything that is not included in the list above should be placed in residual waste bins. This includes:
- Packaging of any kind
- Liquids such as milk, oil or liquid fat
- nappies
- clinical waste
- cat litter, dog poo or other pet waste
- garden waste and cut flowers
