Redoubt Court - Existing Site
Introduction
This public consultation is for the proposed redevelopment of Redoubt Court, at the junction of Longfield Avenue and Fort Fareham Road, to deliver a new affordable housing scheme.
This is an opportunity to review the proposed plans and provide any feedback you may have.
Existing Site
- This is a Fareham Borough Council owned site, which includes Redoubt Court (two apartment blocks) and additional land allocated for housing in the Local Plan (Housing Allocation HA51).
- Redoubt Court is part of the Fareham Housing Regeneration Strategy, identified for redevelopment due to outdated accommodation and poor energy efficiency.
Housing Need & Opportunity
- Fort Fareham is a high housing need area, with particular requirements on the Council's housing waiting list for 1 and 3 bedroom accommodation.
- The site is located not far from the town centre with good transport links including bus stops and connectivity to the wider area.
- There is an opportunity to redevelop this site to deliver additional affordable homes that can meet modern standards whilst complementing the surrounding character of the area.
- The redevelopment could deliver approximately 21 new social rented houses and apartments, including wheelchair-accessible homes for applicants registered with the Council.
