ASB Awareness Week
Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) Week is a national campaign that looks to raise awareness of ASB in communities.
From 30 June to 4 July 2025, we held a series of pop-up events across the Borough for tenants to find out more about about what Fareham does to tackle ASB and where to find information and help available. Find out where we were during this week.
As part of our commitment to the newly adopted Tenant Engagement Strategy, we are working in partnership with the local Police, Fire services and Fareham Borough Council's Community Safety Team to connect with tenants directly in their communities.
This initiative was a chance to raise awareness of the steps Fareham is taking to address Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), empower communities to take a stand, and ensure residents know where to find support and how to report concerns.
In the 2023/24 Tenant Satisfaction Measures, you told us our approach to ASB could be improved. In response, we supported the development of a new ASB Policy with the Community Safety Team, which was formally adopted on 3 September 2024. These efforts reflect our commitment to listening and acting on tenant feedback.
Overall, throughout the week we engaged with 218 residents across the Borough.
The key ASB issues raised by residents were
- Individual Neighbour disputes
- Flytipping
- Speeding and late car noise
- E-Scooter issues
- Young people hanging around
- CCTV
Key feedback on how to address issues:
- Feedback: Closing the loop by following up from ASB reports, even if nothing has come from it, the reason why.
- Partnerships and Collaboration: Strong partnerships between local councils, police, housing associations, and other organisations are crucial for addressing ASB effectively.
- Communication: Promoting reporting procedures, who's the responsible person, and other options available.
We are using your feedback to see where we can improve our services and provide further support.
We take ASB seriously
In the last year, the Council has adopted a new Anti-Social Behaviour Policy which sets out how the Community Safety Team and Housing Team will approach tackling ASB.
