Press Release

6 April 2017

Get blooming!

Residents can pick up a packet of free seeds from Fareham Shopping Centre on Saturday 8 April and Monday 10 April from 10am-3pm.

Fareham Shopping Centre has generously funded 5,000 seed packets, which will be handed out by the Fareham in Bloom team. They will be located at the Council Connect stand opposite The Body Shop and Accessorize.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Cllr Tiffany Harper, said: "This year we have a totally tropical theme for our plants and flower beds across the borough and the events that are being organised. We would like to encourage residents to get involved and join in with the exotic theme in their own gardens."

Entries for the Community Gardening Challenge are now also open. The challenge celebrates the horticultural talents of Fareham residents with 21 award categories ranging from hanging baskets and plantsman gardens to business and schools grounds.

Entry is free and open to anyone who lives or has a business within the Borough and would like to show off their green fingered talents. Entries are judged in July and an awards presentation evening will be held later in the year. Closing date for entries is Friday 16 June.
