Have your say at Welborne CAT meetings

Revised plans for the Welborne development of 6,000 new homes will be on public display next month at two community meetings.

Residents are being invited to have their say at two Community Action Team (CAT) public meetings on the changes to Buckland Development Limited’s outline planning application which were submitted at the end of December.

Both meetings start at 7pm and will be held at:

The meeting will focus on significant amendments to the planning application submitted in 2017 which include a major change to the layout of J10 of the M27, a revision of the local road networks, cycling and pedestrian routes and changes to community facilities, such as schools and a new district centre.

Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, will introduce the Council’s planning team so residents can question them directly. An exhibition with display boards will also be on show before the meeting.

Cllr Woodward said: “This is a great opportunity for people to ask questions or raise any concerns they have about the proposed Welborne development. I would urge anyone who wants to hear about the updated plans to come along and talk to the planning team in person.”

The CAT meetings are part of a wider consultation and all interested parties can comment until 1 March 2019.

The application is online at http://www.fareham.gov.uk/welborne/intro.aspx and can also be viewed at the Civic Offices between 8:45am and 5:15pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am and 4:45pm on Fridays.

Comments on the application can be made online by emailing devcontrol@fareham.gov.uk or by writing to:
