Press Release

5 April 2019

Have your say on Fareham polling stations

Fareham Borough Council is asking residents for feedback on the current polling districts and polling places within the Borough.

Any elector in the boroughs of Fareham and Gosport are invited to provide their feedback. The Council would particularly like to hear from residents or organisations with interest or expertise in the accessibility of polling places for disabled persons.

Comments can be made online at www.fareham.gov.uk/elections or emailed to: elections@fareham.gov.uk. They can also be sent in writing to: Electoral Services, Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ. Responses can be made up until Monday 13 May 2019 and will be made available for public inspection.

Executive Leader of the Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: “It is vital that we ensure our voting arrangements in Fareham are up to standard, so I would encourage all residents within the Borough to provide their feedback through our survey.”

After the consultation ends, any comments received will help the Council produce a draft scheme. The draft scheme will then be published, and further comments will be invited between 20 June 2019 and 17 July 2019. Final recommendations will then be available from 1 November 2019 and will be implemented by 1 December 2019.
