Have your say on Fareham’s Affordable Housing Strategy

Fareham Borough Council has launched a consultation to gather views on the provision of Affordable Housing in the Borough.

The Council has produced a draft Affordable Housing Strategy setting out how Affordable Housing will be delivered over the next five years, including a vision for the delivery of Council housing.

There are around 4,200 affordable homes in the Borough but the Council estimates that another 3,500 will be required by 2036, to address the current and future need.

Cllr Fred Birkett, Executive Member for Housing at Fareham Borough Council, said:

“Our Affordable Housing Strategy is an important part of our planning to ensure we have affordable homes to meet the Borough’s growing need, and that they are the right homes in the right places. We are keen to understand residents’ views on this and these views will help us to prepare the final draft of the Strategy.”

You can have your say on our draft Affordable Housing Strategy online at http://www.fareham.gov.uk/have_your_say/. Hard copies of the document are available at libraries around the Borough and the Civic Offices reception.
