Fareham’s finest gardens go on show

Keen gardeners will be able to pick up tips from green-fingered residents when Fareham’s finest gardens open their doors to the public.

The annual Gardens Open Day will take place on Sunday 21 July from 10am to 6pm with 11 stunning gardens to view.

The event is part of the prestigious Fareham In Bloom calendar activities and all the featured gardens are previous winners of the Community Gardening Challenge.

A ticket costs £7 and covers entry to all the gardens and can be bought at any one of the gardens. All the money raised will go to charity and the work of the Fareham in Bloom volunteers.

The gardens taking part are:

Unfortunately, the garden in Froxfield Gardens, Portchester, is not accessible for wheelchair users.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Councillor Simon Martin, said: “The Open Gardens weekend is a highlight in our calendar with some amazing gardens on show It’s a great chance to see some outstanding gardens and pick up some gardening tips from some fellow residents.

“We hope as many people as possible come along and visit the gardens during the weekend and that it will inspire other gardeners to take part in Fareham in Bloom.”
