Fareham steps back in time

Residents will be able to step back in time and enjoy classic cars and vintage style singing and dancing in Fareham Town Centre.

Bygone Fareham is a family-friendly event on Saturday 14 September in West Street between 10am and 4pm.

Entry is free and there will also be children’s activities including face painting and games, plus there is speciality shopping in West Street and High Street.

Local groups South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society, Morris Minor Club, Portsmouth & Southampton Mini Club and Solent Mini Club will attend the event with car owners on hand to answer any questions and tell you more about their vehicles.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Sue Bell said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to go back in time and see cars from different decades. Children will love the amazing display of cars spanning West Street. It will be a day to remember so come along and join in the fun.”

Deeds of Arms re-enactment group will present ‘Nelson’s Navy’ at Westbury Manor Museum which will tell the story of the Royal Navy from the late 18th and early 19th Century between 10am and 4pm. Children can discover what life was like 200 years ago on warships and find out if they have what it takes to be a sailor in the Royal Navy.
