Contract awarded for management of leisure centres

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to announce the operator for Fareham and Holly Hill Leisure Centres.

Following a procurement process Everyone Active has once again been chosen to manage the facilities on the Council’s behalf for the next 10 years.

Although Everyone Active is the existing operator, their contract with the Council expires in September 2020.  In 2018 the Council commenced a procurement process to secure an operator for the next decade. Although a number of expressions of interest were received, Everyone Active emerged the clear winner against the Council’s evaluation criteria.

Everyone Active has operated Fareham Leisure Centre since 2005 and Holly Hill Leisure Centre since 2016. They are the market leader in the management of local authority leisure facilities and operate 170 centres nationwide.

The bid from Everyone Active includes plans to invest in improvements at both leisure centres.  At Holly Hill Leisure Centre Everyone Active plan to create a new sauna and steam room and improve the main foyer.

Next year will mark 40 years since Fareham Leisure Centre first opened its doors and Everyone Active has outlined ambitious plans to update it.   These include extending the ground floor gym area, creating a climbing wall adjacent to a new soft play space and updating the café.

The Council has been advised that further details about these proposed improvements, including visuals, will be available in the spring of 2020.
