Don’t delay - nominate your everyday hero today

Time is running out to nominate an everyday hero who makes a difference to people’s lives in the Fareham Borough.

Nominations for the Citizen and Young Citizen of Honour Awards are now open - but must be made by Friday 31 January.

Fareham Borough Council runs the award, which has two categories - under 18s and over 18s, with the winners receiving their award at the Mayor Making ceremony in May.

The awards recognise and reward the achievements of those who go above and beyond for others. Past reasons for winning include volunteering, acts of bravery, helping others at school or colleges, coping with something life changing, helping the environment or caring for an individual.

Winners will also have a reception with the new Mayor to receive their Citizens of Honour certificates, an invitation to the Mayor’s Civic Service and Remembrance Day service as well as a £100 gift card.

Nominations can be made online by filling out a form, by emailing publicity@fareham.gov.uk or by calling the Communications Team on 01329 824310. To put someone forward you must also be a resident of the Fareham Borough and can’t be a family member.

All nominations will be considered, and the Executive members of the Council will decide the winners at a meeting in March.
