Press Release

Coronavirus update – Bulky Waste collections to restart across Fareham

Bookings for Bulky Waste collections across Fareham are set to re-start from next Monday, April 27th.

Bulky Waste collections were suspended on March 20. This was due to the number of waste collection staff that were vulnerable or self-isolating and the need for the Council to prioritise refuse and recycling collections.

From next Monday residents can once again book a Bulky Waste collection.

Customers whose collection was cancelled when the service was suspended will need to re-book but will be treated as a priority. The first available collection date will be Monday May 4.

Due to the current restrictions, the Council is unable to enter properties to collect items. Collection crews will follow guidance on social distancing.

Councillor Seán Woodward, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said:

“I’m pleased that we can now restart this service. I know this will be welcomed by residents, especially as Hampshire’s Household Waste Recycling Centres remain closed. Services do however remain under pressure, so if possible, I would suggest residents delay having a clear out of large items.

We have also been able to re-start our Garden Waste collections this week. We will continue to operate both these services as long as our staffing levels remain sufficient to provide them.”

Bulky Waste bookings can be made online here or by calling 01329 236100.
