Press Release

1 July 2020

More local businesses prepare to reopen

More businesses in Fareham are preparing to reopen their doors, following the latest relaxation of lockdown rules.

From 4 July, restaurants, bars and cafes can welcome back customers. Bed & Breakfasts and other holiday accommodation in the Borough can also reopen, along with hair salons and barbers.

The Council has been working with businesses to help them put in the necessary safety measures to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. This has included advising businesses about becoming Covid secure, assisting with concerns and providing signage.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said:

“I’m pleased that more local businesses can open their doors again – it’s an important step in what has been a very tough time for our traders. I would encourage residents to support their local businesses but also remind everyone to respect and follow the new safety measures they have in place.”
