Press Release

Voting for Virtual Fareham in Bloom opens

Voting for the Virtual Fareham in Bloom competition opens on Monday 24 August following 100 entries submitted online throughout July.

Green fingered residents were able to submit a photograph showing off their garden or outdoor space in one of six categories, with the chance of winning a prize, kindly donated by St Margaret’s Nurseries and Fareham Shopping Centre. All of these photos will be up for a public vote and a judge’s vote, with two winners for each category.

Voting will be through the Council’s Facebook page where people can simply ‘like’ their favourite image for each category, or images can be viewed on the Council’s website and residents can vote by emailing inbloom@fareham.gov.uk

Executive Member for Streetscene, Cllr Simon Martin said: “The pandemic has meant that many people had the chance to get out in their gardens and enjoy the outdoors. We’ve had some fantastic entries submitted for our first ever Virtual Fareham in Bloom competition showing off the hard work and passion people have put into their gardens. I would encourage residents to take a look at the images and vote for their favourite.”

Voting closes on Friday 11 September and winners will be announced on Monday 5 October.
