Visitors to the Civic Offices will be required to scan a QR code on their phone as part of the NHS Test and Trace System from Monday 28th September.
People will need to download the free NHS Covid-19 app and scan the QR code which will be displayed outside before entering the building. By ‘checking in’, the app records the time users spend at a venue without recording any personal data. Users will then receive an alert if they have recently visited a venue where they have come into contact with coronavirus.
For visitors who don’t have access to the app, details will need to be left at reception inside the Civic Offices. If requested, this information will then be shared with NHS Test and Trace for the purpose of contact tracing. Personal data will be securely retained by Fareham Borough Council for 21 days, after which time it will be deleted.
Following Government guidelines, other public buildings and businesses across the Borough will also be required to display a QR code for their venue to allow visitors to check in.
The NHS Covid-19 app can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play. For more information about NHS Covid-19 app please visit their website: https://www.covid19.nhs.uk/
