Have your say on Newtown play area

Fareham Borough Council are asking children and their families to tell us how they would like Newtown play area in Portchester to be improved.

The play area is set to be upgraded as part of the Council’s five-year improvement programme for play areas across the borough.

Residents are being asked whether they would like to keep the existing roundabout or replace it with two smaller items of equipment which could be a Surf rider, Toddler playhouse, Inclusive roundabout or Bicycle roundabout. There will also be a chance for people to give their comments and ideas as to how else they would like to see the play area improved.

Votes can be cast at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations between Monday 9 November – Monday 7 December.

Works to the play area is expected to begin in autumn 2021.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: “We would like to hear from children and families that use the play area to tell us how we can make it even better. Some of items being suggested we haven’t got in any of other play areas in the Borough, so it will be interesting to hear what the preferred items are.”
